$15 Kit fee cash to teacher day of class Discover the charm of two timeless button-making traditions in this hands-on, heritage-inspired class with Pam Furry! Learn the art of creating both Dorset buttons and Yorkshire buttons—beautiful hand-crafted embellishments that have been treasured for centuries. Originating in England, Dorset buttons are elegant, thread-wrapped buttons traditionally made over rings, while Yorkshire buttons are woven over a simple loom, creating striking geometric designs with endless color possibilities. Both styles are as functional as they are decorative, making them perfect for garments, bags, ornaments, jewelry, embroidery, slow stitching, and mixed-media projects. Pam will guide you step-by-step through the techniques for each style, teaching you how to wrap, weave, stitch, and embellish your buttons using rings, embroidery thread, and a Yorkshire button loom. You'll create a variety of finished buttons while learning tips and techniques that will inspire countless future projects. Students will leave with a solid understanding of both traditional methods, and the confidence to continue creating these beautiful textile treasures at home.

Classes and Space Rentals For both classes and space rentals, the following refund policy applies based on the timing of your cancellation request: Cancellations made more than 5 days before the scheduled date: Full refund (100%) Cancellations made 3 to 5 days before the scheduled date: 50% refund Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled date: Class Credit Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled date: Class Credit Cancellations made day-of will have no refund Please note that cancellations must be made in writing via email to jaimee@sewcalcraftsudio.com to be eligible for a refund.
