Only a few more weeks to December, things are ALREADY getting festive, so lets take a look at the last week in review.

Felted Moose and Reindeer Class: Part 1

Jumping right in, this week, on Saturday, Kathy Davis hosted her Merry KrisMoose class, in which students were set to create a festive mounted moose. Students got to compose and mold their moose, practicing their creativity and composition skills all while having fun in a cozy group setting! This next week the same group will reconvene and we will get to see the proverbial fruits of their labor in Moose form! So stay tuned.

Drop In Bear Class

Additionally, this week Jaimee taught one of her renowned private bear classes, our student was able to complete two very special bears for her grandchildren for the Christmas holiday. Under the guidance of SewCal's premier bear teacher our student got help sewing and stitching these two cute and cuddly heirloom bears, and took them home for the holidays.

This last week we were happy to host our weekly Crochet and Knitting Club here at SewCal Craft Studio, this event allows crafters to bring in their own projects and work at their own pace in an environment with other talented crafters, feel free to drop by next week and hang out with us. Additionally, we also host a weekly embroidery club every Friday after Knitting and Crochet club.

Knit or Crochet Granny Square Christmas Trees

Last Friday, Julie Lafoon and several of our students got togethers and got to create some incredible Granny Square Christmas Trees. This cute variety of little squares was courtesy of their hard work, and it was a great time all around! We have lots of classes in knitting and crocheting if you are looking to pursue the hobby further, and at all levels. Don't worry if you missed it, this class will come back around for the holidays this December.

Julie's Crochet and Knitting Support

Piggybacking off of the Granny Squares, Julie also offers direct crochet and knitting support to potential learners, if you are looking for this kind of support, or maybe more, feel free to sign up. Along with Crochet and Knitting support, we also offer more laid back clubs for you to work on your projects, as mentioned previously.

Quilting With Larene

Recently, Larene hosted one of her famed quilting classes! Larene is an experienced quilter with talent in almost all applications of the art form. If you are looking to expand your horizons, demo new methods, or get help with the fundamentals of quilting, feel free to sign up for one of Larene's classes. Some applications of Larene's quilt skills include bags, like the ones above which were made with a new line of stunning and beautiful fabrics being carried at SewCal in our Huntington Beach Studio, feel free to join her in these varied applications of quilting skills at her next class.

Free Motion Quilting

Last week on Thursday, several people attended Sally's free motion quilting class. Crafters learned the fundamentals in free motion quilting, understand how to operate the Baby Lock Tiara 3 Machine. This class taught our crafters how to use this great piece of equipment, which is available 6 days a week for members, allowing them to finish their quilts without the need for a long arm quilter.
